Word-Building Kit
IMSE’s Word-Building Kit is designed to support phoneme manipulation, spelling, and word chaining activities in the Orton-Gillingham Plus Teacher Guide lessons. The kit provides opportunities for adding and removing scaffolds as students develop phoneme and word-level accuracy and automaticity. A brief video provides a model of sample instructional activities using the Word-Building Kit.
The kit contains:
- Sound boxes
- Uppercase and lowercase letter arcs
- Magnetic multicolor tiles, including graphemes sorted by type of sound (single consonants, single vowels, digraphs, vowel teams, etc.) and blank tiles for phonological awareness activities
- Magnetic dry erase surfaces
- 9"W x 13"H boards
